Charles Tour Events NOW for Women Participants!

3rd September, 2025

Dear national women amateur players,

The main national golf event season is upon us, including the Jennian Homes Charles Tour events, designed to foster the growth and development of our professional and amateur players.

Charles Tour events have changed format for women participants.

For the 2025/26 season, the women’s amateur field is a stand alone event. That means there will be an overall winner (either a men’s or women’s professional or men’s amateur) and a women’s amateur winner.

The women's amateur course will be set up to provide the challenge you would experience in international amateur events, playing approx. 5,400 – 5,600m. (I.e. it will no longer be set up at 85% of the men’s course.)

If a women professional wishes to play a Charles Tour event, they will have the choice of playing inside the women’s event or in the overall event (competing for the professional prize purse). Women amateurs will be competing for a prize purse based off the women’s entries received and event sponsorship. This is paid into players trust accounts.

With the re-establishment of the women’s only field, comes the ability to earn WAGR points based off your finish in the women’s field. It will be classed as an ‘All Ages’ event (not professional). In order to have WAGR points earned, a minimum field of 8 players is required.

The cut for the women’s field will be to the leading 12 players after 36 holes.  In the event for a tie for 12th place a countback will be applied on the best final 18 holes, 9 holes, 6 holes then 3 holes.

Upcoming events

12 to 14 September  North Island Stroke Play played in conjunction with BOP Stroke Play.

18 to 21 September  Charles Tour – Christie’s Floorings Mount Open

25 to 28 September   Charles Tour – Carrus Tauranga Open
