The Final round of the Women's Championship Pennants took place at the Ngaruawahia Golf Club on Sunday 21st May. There was a brief frost delay before play got underway to find the 2017 Champions.
In Division one; competition leaders Hamilton Golf Club took on a very inform Cambridge team in the final round. After a well fought battle Hamilton would go on to win and become back to back Champions, staying undeafeated for the 2017 season.
Division two; came down to the wire with Hamilton #2 and Horsham Downs starting the day both on 8 Match points. After the morning foursomes, the teams were still locked on 1 game each, meaning it was all coming down to the afternoon singles games. But the winner could still not be found with both teams winning 2 singles games each halving the Team Game points for the day. We would then need to go back to the overall game points for the season which saw Hamilton Golf Club come out on top winning 48 Game points compared to Horsham Downs 37.
Division three saw the combined team from Waikare/Waiterimu take out the 2017 title staying unfeated for the competition meaning they will be promoted to division 2 next year.
Congratulations to all Winners
