2010 Interclub Challenge. Lochiel Golf Club, Saturday 6th February
Waikato and Bay of Plenty combined for the annual Inter Club Challenge at the Lochiel Golf Club on Saturday 6th February.
After the morning round Springfield led with 217 points from the best 3 out of 4 rounds. Mt Maunganui and Ngaruawahia were tied for second on 218 and in third was Tauranga and Lochiel on 219. Things changed once the afternoon round was completed with Lochiel coming home in first place on 430 points. Daniel Graham for Lochiel fired the days low round of 67 and was supported by Steven Kuggeleijn, Ryan Crocker and Hayden Ivil. This completed a clean sweep for Waikato teams over the three years that this competition has been combined with Bay of Plenty district, with Cambridge having won the previous two.

Tauranga were 2nd on 431 points helped greatly by Eddie Burgess having the best two round score of the day of 136 (69,67). Ngaruawahia without their number 1 player Les Millar still managed a creditable 432 and the Mount were third on 435.

Waikato's best combined score for the day went to Tane Robson from Cambridge with 137 (68,69). The best individual net went to Daniel Graham on a 1 hcp with a net 136.
